A process for treating a yarn and/or a fabric to form fine inorganic particulate material in the intra-yarn pores and/or on the surface of the fibres constituting the yarn or fabric, which would substantially maintain fabric reflectance after repeated wash/wear cycles without affecting the desired characteristics of air permeability. The inorganic particles are preferably formed by reacting in an aqueous medium a first reagent selected from mineral and organic acids and a second reagent selected from alkali or alkaline earth metal salts with inorganic anions. The invention also relates to a treatment product composition directed to provide instant inorganic deposits in the yarn or fibre surface.

Procédé pour traiter un fil et/ou un tissu pour former de la matière particulaire fine inorganique dans les pores entre les fils et/ou à la surface des fibres constituant le fil ou le tissu, qui permet de maintenir sensiblement intacte la réflectance du tissu après des cycles répétés de lavage/utilisation sans affecter les caractéristiques désirées de perméabilité à l'air. Les particules inorganiques sont de préférence formées par la réaction dans un milieu aqueux d'un premier réactif sélectionné parmi les acides organiques et minéraux et un deuxième réactif sélectionné entre les alcalis et les sels de métaux alcalins de terres rares avec des anions inorganiques. L'invention concerne aussi une composition de produits de traitement destinée à former des dépôts inorganiques instantanés à la surface du fil ou de la fibre.
