A programmable controller having three known components under control of a programmable ~sub-field~ timing generator used for display control. The three known components are a phase lock loop (PLL) unit, a pixel pipeline (PPL) unit, and an embedded frame buffer. Each of the components is mounted so as to support not only a field sequential color (FSC-TFT) display but also a non-FSC- TFT display apparatus. The programmable controller has some novel components inherent to the FSC-TFT. These novel components are a color light sequencer for controlling an LED (or a color light source used) and a programmable source driver/gate driver controller adapted to a wide variety between different display panels.

Contrôleur programmable possédant trois composants connus se trouvant sous le contrôle d'un générateur de temps à <= sous-champ >= programmable utilisé pour la commande d'affichage. Les trois composants connus sont une boucle à verrouillage de phase, un pipeline de pixels et un tampon de trame encastré. Chacun des composants est monté de façon à supporter non seulement un affichage couleur séquentiel de champ (FSC-TFT), mais aussi un afficheur sans FSC-TFT. Le contrôleur programmable possède certains nouveaux composants inhérents au FSC-TFT. Ces nouveaux composants sont un séquenceur de lumière couleur pour contrôler une diode électroluminescente (ou une source de lumière couleur ) et un contrôleur de pilote de source programmable/pilote de porte adapté à une grande variété de panneaux d'affichage.
