Antagonistic synthetic peptides, obtained from TGF.beta.1 or from its receptors in the organism, that can be used in the manufacture, both on their own, as well as the gene sequences that encode them and the recombinant systems that express them, in the manufacture of compositions for use in the treatment of liver diseases and more concretely in cases of fibrosis. The said compositions can optionally include mimotopes of the said active peptides.
L'invention concerne des peptides synthétiques antagonistes de TGF.beta.1 ou de ses récepteurs dans l'organisme. On utilise soit les peptides en soi soit les séquences géniques les codant et les systèmes recombinants les exprimant dans la fabrication de compositions utiles pour le traitement de maladies hépatiques et plus particulièrement dans les cas de fibrose. Ces compositions peuvent renfermer éventuellement des mimotopes de ces peptides actifs.
