An image characteristic identification signal generation apparatus and an image characteristic identification signal generation method realized by this apparatus using DCT code feature of an arbitrary signal including an image, thereby reducing the capacity of the image. This can be applied to a new passport having a face photograph and a barcode and difficult to be forged, a credit card, a driver~s license, and an ID card, thereby contributing to a general security system. The image characteristic identification signal generation apparatus includes an image input unit, a discrete cosine transform (DCT) unit for performing two-dimensional DCT to the input image data, and a binary one-dimensional signal generator for generating a binary one- dimensional signal from the DCT code of the transformed data.
La présente invention concerne un appareil de génération de signaux caractéristiques d'une image et un procédé de génération de signaux caractéristiques d'une image mis en oeuvre par ledit appareil à l'aide d'un élément de code TCD d'un signal arbitraire comprenant une image, diminuant ainsi la capacité de l'image. Ladite invention peut être appliquée à un nouveau passeport comprenant une photo de visage et un code à barres, difficile à falsifier, à une carte de crédit, à un permis de conduire et à une carte d'identité, ce qui contribue à obtenir un système de sécurité général. Ledit appareil de génération de signaux d'identification caractéristiques de l'image comprend une unité d'entrée d'image, une unité de transformation en cosinus discrète (TCD) permettant de mettre en oeuvre une TCD bidimensionnelle sur les données d'image d'entrée, et un générateur de signaux unidimensionnels binaires permettant de générer un signal unidimensionnel binaire à partir du code TCD des données transformées.
