The present invention relates to novel antibodies, antibody fragments and antibody conjugates which display a high degree of selectivity for squamous cell carcinoma antigens including carcinomas of the lung, esophagus and cervix. The present invention relates to both in vivo and in vitro clinical screening methods for diagnosis or prognosis of carcinomas by means of detecting the expression of squamous cell carcinoma antigens in biological samples of the subject using the novel antibodies of the invention. The invention further provides for kits for carrying out the above described screening methods. Additionally, antibody conjugates may be used to efficiently deliver various agents which have anti-tumor effects to the tumor cell. The antibodies of the invention may also be administered to a patient in non-conjugated form to target ADCC to the tumor cell.

La présente invention concerne de nouveaux anticorps, des fragments d'anticorps et des conjugués d'anticorps qui présentent un degré élevé de sélectivité des antigènes d'épithélioma spinocellulaire, y compris des carcinomes du poumon, de l'oesophage et du col de l'utérus. Cette invention a également trait à des méthodes de criblage clinique in vivo et in vitro destinées au diagnostic et au pronostic des carcinomes, par le biais de la détection de l'expression d'antigènes d'épithélioma spinocellulaire dans des échantillons biologiques du sujet au moyen des nouveaux anticorps de cette invention. Celle-ci concerne, en outre, des kits permettant de réaliser les méthodes de criblage susmentionnées. Par ailleurs, on peut utiliser des conjugués d'anticorps pour administrer de manière efficace divers agents qui ont des effets anti-tumoraux sur la cellule tumorale. On peut administrer ces anticorps à un patient sous une forme non conjuguée pour cibler l'ADCC de la cellule tumorale.
