A cycloalkanol is prepared by cycloaddition between a diene and a vinyl ester, wherein the ester is derived from a carboxylic acid of sufficient molecular weight to enable the reaction to be carried out at atmospheric pressure while above 150 ~C, and the corresponding reaction between the diene and vinyl acetate generates a pressure above 4 atmospheres.

Un cycloalcanol est préparé par cyclo-addition entre un diène et un ester de vinyle, l'ester étant dérivé d'un acide carboxylique de poids moléculaire suffisant pour que la réaction puisse s'effectuer sous la pression atmosphérique tout en opérant à une température supérieure à 150 ·C, la réaction correspondante entre le diène et l'acétate de vinyle générant une pression supérieure à 4 atmosphères.
