A method of producing docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) from a culture of Isochrysis galbana, and production of arachidonic acid (ADA) from a culture of porphyridiumcruentum. This production process comprises of growing the cultures in a synthetic seawater medium in a closed culture system at ambient temperature. The culture is then extracted, washed with sterilized fresh water and dried. The resulting dry biomass is intended to be marketed as a food containing DHA and ADA, as well as a raw source for DHA and ADA.
