Why was I the one to envision this modification you ask? Perhaps it's because, as in many cases where one is remote from a field of endeavor, I could see the forest in spite of the trees. " THE SHTICK " is comprised of a regular wooden ice rink Hockey stick with "bumper-padding" on all feasible surfaces and edges that have potentially harmful impact with other players. In fact, the only areas of the stick that I'd leave "as is" are both sides of the blade - crucial to the handling of the puck, and the lower edge of the blade for the same reason. This product may not catch fire too readily with the Pro adult sector who may or may not make a show of initial resistance. Actually, I see it welcomed by the parents of the up and coming Pee-Wee and Junior Leaguers who would find it comforting to know that their child is likely to cause less injury to others. A natural rubber, such as a "gummy" crepe rubber would probably test well. The handle, after being wrapped with a 1/4 in. sheet of rubber would then be shrunk-wrapped with a sturdy vinyl which would include the logo, lettering, (etc.)
