Fluorescent tracer materials can be added to metalworking fluids and used to measure the concentration of actives contained in the metalworking fluid. Measurements can be conducted continually and product concentration adjusted automatically. The fluorescent materials used are substantially non-reactive to the compounds in the metalworking system.
