The present invention is related to glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) family-related compounds, such as glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), GDNF-like factors, such as persephin, artemin and neurturin or other compounds which act like GDNF on its signal transmitting receptor, i.e. cRet receptor tyrosine kinase and/or co-receptors, e.g. GDNF- family-receptor .alpha.:s (GFR.alpha.1-4) and their use for regulating and studying spermatogenesis, for inhibting the differentiation of sperm cells, for developing male contraceptives or as a male contraceptive as well as their use for manufacturing male contraceptives.

L'invention concerne des composés de la famille du facteur neurotrophique dérivé de lignées cellulaires gliales (GDNF), par exemple de composés tels que perséphine, artémine et neurturine, ou autres, de la famille du facteur neurotrophique dérivé de lignées cellulaires gliales (GDNF), de facteurs analogues GNDF, agissant comme le GNDF sur son récepteur de transmission de signal, c'est-à-dire récepteur cRet et/ou co-récepteurs tyrosine kinase, par exemple récepteur de la famille GDNF .alpha.: s -GFR.alpha.1-4), ainsi que leur utilisation pour la régulation et l'étude de la spermatogenèse, pour l'inhibition de la différenciation des cellules des spermatozoïdes, pour le développement de contraceptifs mâles ou comme contraceptifs mâles, et leur utilisation pour la fabrication de contraceptifs mâles.
