An automatic hair curling iron with a variable speed rotating, heated body and a stationary handle. The rotation and heating of the sleeve of the unit will be controlled by on/off switches on the handle. Rotating rods will be powered by a motor located in the handle of the unit facilitating rotation of the sleeve. Grooves on the end of the sleeve closest to the handle will clamp the rotating body to the stationary handle. The heating rod in the core of the unit will heat the sleeve while the non-heat conducting materials of the stationary unit maintain a room temperature handle at all times. A hazard light located on the handle will illuminate to provide a warning to the user to unplug the curling iron if a problem is detected in rotation or heating of the unit.
