A theft deterrent which is intended to be attached to a theft-attractive article in a manner such that the deterrent can only be removed from the article with the aid of a deterrent release device held in the possession of an authorized person, and such that any other form of removal will result in damage to the article concerned. The theft deterrent includes a first element having a connecting element which projects out from the element and which is intended to he inserted through the article to be protected, and a second element which is intended for attachment to the connecting element. The first element includes a fragile ampule which contains an article staining substance and which is intended to be fractured by manipulation of the connecting element. The ampule is arranged along a bar, of which at least a part can be moved by applying a pulling force on the connecting element in a direction away from the base element. The connecting element is provided at the centre of the bar with an abutment part on the side thereof remote from the ampule. The ampule is held at its ends against movement in the aforesaid direction.

Le présent brevet vise un dispositif de prévention du vol conçu pour être fixé à un article intéressant les voleurs de telle manière que ce dispositif dissuasif ne puisse être détaché de l'article convoité sans un élément de dépose que la personne autorisée aura en sa possession, et de façon que tout autre mode de dépose endommage l'article en question. Le dispositif de prévention du vol se compose d'une première partie munie d'un connecteur faisant saillie sur cette partie et devant être insérée au travers de l'article à protéger, et d'une deuxième partie devant être fixée à ce connecteur. La première partie comprend une ampoule de produit salissant qui se brise si le connecteur est manipulé. Cette ampoule est disposée le long d'une tige dont au moins une partie peut être déplacée sous l'action d'une force de traction appliquée contre le connecteur, en direction opposée de la section de base. Le connecteur est monté au centre de la tige avec un taquet situé sur le coté, à une certaine distance de l'ampoule. L'ampoule est maintenue à son extrémité afin d'empêcher tout mouvement dans la direction susmentionnée.
