An apparatus for iiluminating and decorating a room. The apparatus includes a mounting apparatus and a theme apparatus engaged with the mounting apparatus. The mounting apparatus includes at least a first fixture adapted to receive at least a first light source. The theme apparatus includes at least one thematic component that is movable relative to the mounting apparatus. The theme apparatus also includes at least one light-altering component. The light-altering component is positioned relative to the mounting apparatus for receiving and altering light from the first fight source where the first light source is engaged with the first fixture such that the altered light illuminates at least a portion of the room with thematic light.
