Compounds having an interleukin-1 inhibitory activity (for example, endogenous interleukin-1 receptor antagonist proteins, interleukin-1 neutralizing antibodies) have remarkable effects of inhibiting a decrease in the cell count in retinal ganglial cell layer, preventing entoretinal layer from thinning, and lowering ocular tension.
