Pharmaceutical compositions and methods of using them. Lipid formulations of a glutathione analog and methods of manufacturing them. Their use to stimulate hematopoiesis, protect hematopoietic cells from damage caused by radiation or chemotherapy, or potentiate the stimulatory action of one or a combination of cytokines on colony formation by hematopoietic progenitor cells, protect a subject from a destructive effect of a chemotherapeutic agent or irradiation, or to potentiate the effect of a chemotherapeutic agent.

L'invention concerne des formulations lipidiques d'un analogue de glutathione et des procédés de fabrication de ces dernières. L'invention traite également d e leur utilisation pour stimuler l'hématopoïèse, pour protéger les cellules hématopoïétiques de tout endommagement provoqué par des rayonnements ou par de la chimiothérapie, pour renforcer l'action de stimulation d'une combinaison de cytokines sur la formation de colonies par des cellules précurseurs hématopoïétiques, ou encore pour protéger un sujet contre tout effet destructeur d'un agent chimiothérapeutique ou de rayonnements, ou pour renforcer l'effet d'un agent chimiothérapeutique.
