The present invention is directed to methods for treating infections caused by <u>Staphylococcus aureus</u> with reduced glycopeptide sensitivity. The invention is preferably practiced with strains of <u>Staphylococcus aureus</u> which are methicillin resistant, such as the Mu50 strain.
