ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A thermal control-element having a plate-like wall-part and a diaphragm-element connected peripherally thereto and carrying on one side a closure-part and, on the other side, facing the wall- part, a counterplate. The closure-part, diaphragm-element, and counterplate are connected firmly together in their central areas, the wall-part having a cup-shaped recess with a peripheral support- surface for the outer edge-area of the counterplate. The space formed between said wall-part and diaphragm-element contains the expansion-medium. The closure-part and the wall-part have central lift-stop surfaces adapted to abut with each other in the open terminal position of the closure-part. With the closure-part in the closed position, the axial distance between the lift-stop- surfaces thereof and the wall-part is less than the axial distance between the support-surface and the outer edge-area of the said counterplate.
