A thermal cover for a valve which includes a flexible blanket having a central valve covering portion with smaller pipe covering portions extending outwardly from opposed sides of the central valve covering portion, an exterior surface and an interior surface. An electrical heating element or a heated circulating fluid is used to heat the interior surface. A heat retentive covering is positioned on the exterior surface. Bungee cord attachment eyelets are attached to each of the central valve covering portion and the smaller pipe covering portions to facilitate the flexible blanket, once wrapped around a valve an upstream pipe and a downstream pipe, being held in position by bungee cords.
