The invention concerns a thermal fatigue test stand for combustion engine cylinder heads comprising in combination: a cylinder head (C) support (14) having at least a cylinder head zone capable of being exposed to the engine combustion; at least a burner (11) for directing a flame on the whole said zone; and at least a heat flux sensor (171) located in said cylinder head thickness at said zone to verify whether the heat flux produced by the flame is at least approximately in conformity with a predetermined value. The invention also concerns a method for calibrating such a test stand, and a method for testing cylinder heads. The invention is particular useful for developing, both from the metallurgical and geometrical viewpoints, aluminium alloy cylinder heads.
Un banc d'essai de fatigue thermique pour culasse de moteur à combustion comprend en combinaison: un support (14) pour une culasse (C) possédant au moins une zone de tête de cylindre apte à être normalement exposée à la combustion du moteur, au moins un brûleur (11) apte à diriger sur l'ensemble de ladite zone une flamme, et au moins un capteur de flux thermique (171) situé dans l'épaisseur de ladite culasse au niveau de ladite zone pour vérifier que le flux thermique produit par la flamme est au moins approximativement conforme à une valeur prédéterminée. L'invention propose également un procédé d'étalonnage d'un tel banc, et un procédé de test de culasses. Application notamment au développement, tant du point de vue de la métallurgie que de la géométrie, des culasses en alliage d'aluminium.
