Abstract of the Invention An improved rubber-based thermal barrier tape for use in electric cable construction wherein the rubber composition is relatively soft and comprises increased elongation ant adhesion characteristics. This allows the use of polymer films for shielding on each face of the composition. Consequently, the mica-dust, previously used on such products, is not required.
