ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The composite insulating material and can be used to insulate the internal storage vessel of a cryogenic storage container consists of a first stratum of super insulation and a second stratum of non-compacted fiberglass. The combination of super insulation and non-compacted fiberglass. results in a composite insulating material that has insulation characteristics comparable to that of super insulation for very high vacuums, yet has much better insulating characteristics in the poorer vacuum range.
