ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A thermal sill joint for separating the sills of interior and exterior metallic window frames is disclosed. The thermal sill joint comprises a plastic hollow extrusion which is inserted between the two sills and sealed with sealing material. The extrusion and the two sills have inter-engageable upper and lower flanges. The lower flanges are inter-engageable by transverse downward movement of the extrusion relative to the sills, while the upper flanges are inter-engageable with a snap-action by moving the upper flanges of the sills towards the extrusion in a movement transverse to the latter. Paste-like material seals the joint between the interfitting upper flanges. It is possible to insert said sealing material, since it is not necessary to longitudinally slide the extrusion in position between the two sills.
