L'invention concerne un dispositif de marquage ther- mique de la surface d'une bande en laine minérale contenant un liant, constitué par un cylindre monté en rotation dans un châssis mobile en hauteur, le cylindre portant sur sa périphérie au moins un élément de marquage, de préférence chauffé électriquement, élément de marquage (4) portant une plaque d'impression (7) dont les caractères (18), en forme de lettres, chiffres, signes, d'images etc..., font de préférence saillie d'au moins 5 mm au-dessus de la surface de la plaque d'impression (7), l'enveloppe des caractères étant au moins approximativement confondue avec celle d'un cylindre droit dont l'axe coïnciderait avec l'axe du cy- lindre (1).
