A thermal postcombustion device (1) comprises, in a conventional manner per se, a housing (2, 3, 4), which comprises an inlet (28) for the exhaust air that is to be purified and an outlet (29, 30) for clean air. A combustion chamber (11) is located inside the housing (2, 3, 4), and inside this combustion chamber, a heating device (9) generates a temperature at which the pollutants carried by the exhaust air burn. In order to reduce the energy requirement, a heat exchanger (50a, 50b) is provided over which the exhaust air coming from the inlet (28) is guided to the combustion chamber (11), and the clean air coming from the combustion chamber (11) is guided to the outlet (29, 30). In order to also be able to process exhaust air, which is loaded with adherent residues, for example, pitch vapors, a device (33 to 38) is provided with which, during a purification mode, at least a portion of the clean air can be optionally fed past a section (50a) of the heat exchanger (50a, 50b) located closer to the combustion chamber (11) and into another section (50b) of the heat exchanger (50) located further from the combustion chamber (11). Deposits, which have formed in the vicinity of the cold end of the heat exchanger (50a, 50b), can be removed in this manner, particularly oxidized.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de postcombustion thermique (1) comprenant de manière connue en soi, un carter (2, 3, 4) qui présente une entrée (28), pour l'air d'évacuation à purifier et une sortie (29, 30), pour l'air pur. Il est prévu, dans le carter (2, 3, 4), une chambre de combustion (11) dans laquelle une température est produite par un dispositif de chauffage (9), température à laquelle les impuretés entraînées dans l'air d'évacuation sont brûlées. Pour réduire la consommation d'énergie, il est prévu un échangeur de chaleur (50a, 50b) par l'intermédiaire duquel l'air d'évacuation provenant de l'entrée (28) est guidé en direction de la chambre de combustion (11) et l'air pur provenant de la chambre de combustion (11) est guidé vers la sortie (29, 30). Afin de pouvoir également traiter l'air d'évacuation chargé en résidus collants, par exemple des vapeurs de poix, il est prévu un dispositif (33 à 38) à l'aide duquel au moins une partie de l'air pur peut être éventuellement acheminé, dans un mode de purification, jusqu'à une section (50a) de l'échangeur de chaleur (50a, 50b), située à proximité de la chambre de combustion (11). Des dépôts qui se sont formés à proximité de l'extrémité "froide" de l'échangeur de chaleur (50a, 50b) peuvent ainsi être éliminés, notamment oxydés.
