ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A thermal insulating capsule for the substantially complete enclosure of the body of a living accident victim, has an opening for the victim's face and is capable of being opened along a substantial part of its periphery for the insertion or removal of the body. The capsule has internal straps for securing the body within the capsule, and external carrying straps which form loops to receive stretcher poles. An fastened slit may be provided in the area of the victim's heart of the capsule to permit access for cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
