23991-43 ABSTRACT Depending on the opening force of the spring, a relatively high closing force is to be transferred from the dia- phragm member to the closure member in order to close the valve. High stresses affecting the life of the diaphragm thus occur in the diaphragm member. The new valve should have a long diaphragm life. In the valve the spring is designed as a disc spring and supports the diaphragm member over a large area against the internal pressure of the diaphragm capsule during its entire lift. The valve is thermally controlled and contains a diaphragm cap- sule for large operative ranges of pressure.
