The high temperature insulation system of the present invention minimizes the transfer of heat energy through the wall of a pipe or tubing section. An effective high temperature insulating material for placing in the annulus between a section of production pipe or tubing and an outer pipe is made from a mixture which includes cement, water, micro spheres, and latex resin.
