Propylene oxide, ethylene oxide, or a propylene oxide/ethylene oxide mixture are reacted with 1,2-phenylene di-amine to form adducts having hydroxyl and amino groups. The 1,2-phenylene diamine adducts are useful in making rigid polyurethane foams, especially foams for pour-in-place applications, where they give a good combination of low k-factor and short demold times. The polyols also have unexpectedly low viscosities.
