ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A thermal oxidatively stable polycarbonate composition stabilized with a minor amount of an ester of a phosphorhalidous acid and a process for preparing a thermal oxidatively stable polymer. In the process, the ester of a phosphorohalidous acid is reacted with a dihydric-phenol monomer. In addition, an epoxy may be used in admixture with the composition.
