Surfaces of various types of substrates, including glass, ceramics, and metals, are rendered stable to heat and corrosion by treatment with a silicon- containing polymer which may be an alkoxy silyl substituted polysilazane or an alkoxy silyl substituted polysiloxazane. Polymeric coatings of the compositions may be cured at room temperature to about 50~C in an atmosphere containing moisture without requiring the introduction of a catalytic curing agent.
L'invention concerne des surfaces de divers types de substrats, y compris du verre, des céramiques et des métaux, sont rendus stables à la chaleur et à la corrosion par traitement avec un polymère contenant du silicone, notamment un polysilazone substitué par alcoxy silyle ou un polysiloxazane substitué par alcoxy silyle. Des revêtements polymères de ces compositions peuvent être réticulés à température ambiante jusqu'à environ 50·C dans une atmosphère humide sans nécessiter l'introduction d'un agent de réticulation catalytique.
