PATENT APPLICATION of WAYNE EDMUND FEELY for THERMALLY STABLE POLYMER IMAGES AND PROCESSES DN 84-04 MSA:plb ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE Thermally stable polymer images on surfaces capable of withstanding heating to at least 200°C without significant loss in image quality or resolution are provided. These images are formed from a dual acting, aqueous developable, crosslinkable polymer coating. The coating is formed from a thermally stable, photosensitive coating solution containing an acid hardening resin system and a photoacid generator dissolved in a solvent. Processes for forming high quality positive and negative thermally stable images, protective coatings and planarizing layers on surfaces from the photosensitive coating are provided.
