ABSTRACT A heat stable thermoplastic epoxy resin is prepared by reacting together in the presence of a catalyst (a) an epoxy resin, (b) optionally, a poly- hydric phenol, and (c) a monohydric phenol or alcohol, monocarboxylic acid or anhydride thereof, aliphatic or aromatic mono-secondary amines, mono-thiol, mono- -isocyanate, water or combination thereof. The thermo- plastic resin does not exhibit an excessive viscosity increase at elevated temperatures making it particularly suitable for use in highway marking paint applications.
