Two types of gloves (10 and 30) with thermobonded seams that define fingers (22) and a thumb portion (12) that extends over palm (24) of gloves (10 and 30) thus allowing free thumb rotation. The method for manufacturing gloves (10 and 30) includes first forming thumb portion (12) by thermobonding one thermoplastic sheet (48) for glove (10) or thermobonding two thermoplastic sheets (74 and 76) for glove (30) into the shape of a thumb and second forming the remaining portion of gloves (10 and 30) by thermobonding thumb portion (12) to another thermoplastic sheet (46) for glove (10) or thermobonding thumb portion (12) to another thermoplastic sheet (78) for glove (30).

Cette invention concerne deux types de gants (10, 30) qui possèdent des raccords thermosoudés définissant des doigts (22) et une partie pouce (12). Cette dernière déborde sur la paume (24) des gants (10, 30) de manière à permettre la libre rotation du pouce. Le procédé de fabrication de ces gants (10, 30) consiste tout d'abord à former la partie pouce (12) par themosoudage d'une feuille thermoplastique (48) pour le premier type de gant (10) ou, encore, par thermosoudage de deux feuilles thermoplastiques (74, 76) pour le second type de gant (30), ceci de manière à obtenir la forme d'un pouce. La partie restante des gants (10, 30) est ensuite formée en thermosoudant la partie pouce (12) à une autre feuille thermoplastique (46) pour le premier type de gant (10) ou, encore, en thermosoudant ladite partie pouce (12) à une autre feuille thermoplastique (78) pour le second type de gant (30).
