Performance of a flux in a soldering process is assessed by monitoring the activity of the flux via its electrical conductance measured using a probe having interdigitated metallic traces and a temperature sensor. The measured conductance- temperature time profile provides information useful for selecting a suitable flux formulation and soldering conditions for a given application, for determining the cause of soldering process problems, and for developing improved flux formulations.

Selon la présente invention, les performances d'un flux dans un processus de brasage sont estimées en surveillant l'activité du flux via sa conductance électrique mesurée au moyen d'une sonde comportant des traces métalliques interdigitées et d'un capteur de température. Le profil temporel conductance-température mesuré fournit des informations utiles pour sélectionner une formule de flux acceptable et les conditions de brasage pour une application donnée, pour déterminer la cause de problèmes de processus de brasage, et pour développer des formules de flux améliorées.
