THERMOCOUPLES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention concerns thermocouples for the measurement of temperature of molten metal which comprise a bimetal junction located in a length of quartz glass tube, said bimetal junction joining two separate junction wires, said junction wires being connected to compensating conductors of the thermocouple, said quartz glass tube having two ends, the first end being a closed end wherein said bimetal junction is located and the second end being an open end through which both junction wires project around a plug inserted into said open end of said tube.
