A pen comprises a closed transparent tube. A fluid is sealed within thetube. The fluid consists of a liquid phase and a vapour phase. The pressure at the interface of the liquid and the vapour is the saturated vapour pressure of the fluid. The liquid is coloured. Body heat causes the fluid to boil when the pen is held in the hand of a person. Visual entertainment is provided by the sight of bubbles passing through the liquid.
