A set of stirring devices, such as spoons, made of a chromatic material. Each device is sized for a specific use and the temperature change of the material is at a prescribed threshold to correspond with the application of each spoon. The devices or spoons are designed for specific cooking applications. The devices would be used as standard kitchen utensils, as in the example of wooden spoons or spatulas, but change colour when the cooking ingredients reach a preprescribed temperature and thus indicate visually that the key cooking temperature had been reached. This aids in the cooking process and eliminates the need for a cooking thermometer or other test of the cooking stage.
