The invention generally relates to thermoplastic blends having improved properties. Optionally, these blends may be dynamically vulcanized. More specifically, this invention is directed to a composition comprising a blend of chloromethylated(styrene-isobutylene)copolymer and a thermoplastic resin selected from the group consisting of polyamides, polyesters, polycarbonates, polysulfones, polyacetals, polyacetones, acrylonitrile-butadiene styrene resins, polyphenylene oxide, polyphenylene sulfide, styrene-acrylonitrile resins, styrene-maleic anhydride resins, polyamides, aromatic polyketones, ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer and mixtures thereof. Tires and tire components such as air permeation prevention films comprising these compositions are also provided.
L'invention concerne, de façon générale, des mélanges thermoplastiques de propriétés améliorées. Eventuellement, de tels mélanges sont vulcanisés dynamiquement. Plus particulièrement, l'invention concerne une composition comprenant un mélange de copolymère (styrène-isobutylène) chlorométhylé et d'une résine thermoplastique choisie dans le groupe comprenant des polyamides, polyesters, polycarbonates, polysulfones, polyacétals, polyacétones, résines styrène acrylonitrile-butadiène, oxyde de polyphénylène, sulfure de polyphénylène, résines styrène-acrylonitrile, résines styrène-anhydride maléique, polyamides, polycétones aromatiques, alcool éthylène-vinylique, ainsi que des copolymères et des mélanges de ces produits. L'invention concerne en outre des pneus et des composants de pneus, tels que des films empêchant la pénétration de l'air renfermant ces compositions.
