A pipe (4) is rehabilitated by means of a tubular liner (5) which is introduced into the pipe in a contracted form, expanded into contact with the pipe wall, and hardened to retain its form. The liner (5) comprises composite material formed by knitting, braiding or weaving tows of intermingled filaments of thermoplastic and reinforcing fibre, the liner being heated during application to the pipe in order to melt the thermoplastic. The composite material may be created as a sleeve. Alternatively, a sheet of the material may be calendered and rolled up into a tubular form, overlapping edge margins of the sheet being bonded together after expansion of the tube into contact with the pipe wall.

L'invention concerne la réfection d'un tuyau (4) au moyen d'un revêtement (5) tubulaire qui, introduit dans le tuyau sous forme contractée, se dilate pour venir en contact avec la paroi du tuyau, et durcit pour conserver sa forme. Le revêtement (5) comprend une matière composite formée par tricotage, tressage ou tissage de câbles de filaments entremêlés de thermoplastique et de fibre de renforcement, le revêtement étant chauffé pendant son application au tuyau afin de faire fondre le thermoplastique. La matière composite peut constituer un manchon. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, une feuille de matière peut être calandrée et roulée en forme tubulaire, des extrémités superposées de la feuille étant collées après dilatation du tube pour venir en contact avec la paroi du tuyau.
