Thermoplastic compositions comprising a bulk polymer, an additive, and a compatibilizer/emulsifier/surfactant (CES) are described. The bulk polymer comprises an alkylene terephthalate or naphthalate polyester such as polyethylene terephthalate. The additive comprises an amorphous or substantially amorphous copolymer of ethylene and a co-monomer that forms polar portions, such as methacrylate, butylacrylate, ethyl acrylate, or ethylhexyl methacrylate. The CES comprises a co-polymer or ter-polymer of ethylene and a glycidyl acrylate or maleic anhydride, and optionally an acrylate such as methacrylate, ethylacrylate, propylacrylate, butylacrylate, ethylhexylacrylate, or mixtures thereof. The thermoplastic compositions of the present invention exhibit improved molding properties, high dimensional stability, high temperature resistance, and are particularly useful in food- grade applications such as dual-ovenable containers.

La présente invention concerne des compositions thermoplastiques constituées d'un polymère polymérisé en masse, d'un additif, et d'un agent de compatibilité/émulsifiant/tensioactif (CES). Le polymère, polymérisé en masse, comprend un alkylène téréphtalate ou un naphtalate polyester tel que du polyéthylène téréphtalate. L'additif comprend un copolymère d'éthylène, amorphe ou sensiblement amorphe, et un comonomère qui forme des parties polaires, tel qu'un méthacrylate, butylacrylate, éthyl acrylate, ou éthylhexyl méthacrylate. Le CES comprend un copolymère ou un terpolymère d'éthylène et un glycidyl acrylate ou de l'anhydride maléique, et, éventuellement, un acrylate tel que du méthacrylate, éthylacrylate, propylacrylate, butylacrylate, éthylhexylacrylate, ou des mélanges de ces composés. Les compositions thermoplastiques de l'invention possèdent des propriétés de moulage améliorées, une stabilité dimensionnelle élevée, une résistance élevée à la température, et sont particulièrement utiles dans des applications alimentaires tels que des contenants à double réchauffage.
