The invention concerns a thermoplastic copolyamide and a composition comprising as matrix said thermoplastic copolyamide, and a method for making such a thermoplastic copolyamide. More particularly it concerns a copolyamide of the statistical tree type resulting from the reaction between a plurifunctional monomer comprising at least three reactive functions to form an amide function, said functions being of two different types, and bifunctional monomers conventionally used in making linear polyamides. The resulting copolyamide has a very low softness index in molten state compared to the linear polyamide and improved shock-resistant properties. The invention also concerns methods for making these copolyamides and compositions for moulding, extruding or injecting parts. Said compositions comprise fillers and additives and said copolyamide as matrix.

La présente invention concerne un copolyamide thermoplastique et une composition comprenant comme matrice ce copolyamide thermoplastique, ainsi qu'un procédé de fabrication d'un tel copolyamide thermoplastique. Elle concerne plus particulièrement un copolyamide du type arbre statistique résultant de la réaction entre un monomère plurifonctionnel comprenant au moins trois fonctions réactives pour former une fonction amide, ces fonctions étant de deux types différents, et des monomères bifonctionnels classiquement utilisés dans la fabrication des polyamides linéaires. Le copolyamide obtenu présente un indice de fluidité en fondu très faible parrapport au polyamide linéaire et des propriétés de résistance aux chocs améliorées. L'invention concerne également des procédés de fabrication de ces copolyamides ainsi que des compositions pour le moulage, l'extrusion ou l'injection de pièces. Ces compositions comprennent des charges et additifs et comme matrice un copolyamide de l'invention.
