A thermoplastic multilayer composite material having improved thermal and mechanical properties is disclosed. The material consists at least of: I. a layer of a polyvinylidene fluoride moulding composition, II. a layer directly adjacent to the layer I. and comprising a moulding composition based on a mixture of polyamide and polyglutarimide, III. a layer of a coupling agent containing reactive groups, and IV. a layer directly adjacent to the layer III. and comprising a polyolefin moulding composition, with adjacent layers being firmly bonded to one another. The composite material is useful for producing for example pipes.
