There is disclosed a method for preparing a thermoplastic elastomer composition which exhibits improved mechanical properties, said method comprising: (I) reacting, (A) a fluorocarbon resin with, (B) a grafting agent, in the presence of, (C) a radical initiator, to prepare a modified fluorocarbon resin; (II) mixing said modified fluorocarbon resin with (D) a silicone base consisting essentially of a diorganopolysiloxane gum having an average of at least 2 alkenyl radicals in its molecule and a reinforcing filler, (E) an organohydrido silicon compound which contains an average of at least 2 silicon-bonded hydrogen groups in its molecule, and (F) a hydrosilation catalyst, components (E) and (F) being present in an amount sufficient to cure said diorganopolysiloxane; and dynamically curing said diorganopolysiloxane.

L'invention concerne un procédé servant à préparer une composition élastomère thermoplastique présentant des propriétés mécaniques améliorées, ledit procédé consistant, d'une part, à faire réagir une résine fluorocarbonée avec un agent de greffage, en présence d'un initiateur de radicaux, afin de préparer une résine fluorocarbonée modifiée, d'autre part, à mélanger ladite résine fluorocarbonée modifiée avec une base silicone consistant essentiellement de gomme diorganopolysiloxane comptant en moyenne au moins 2 radicaux alkényles par molécule et une charge renforçante, d'un composé organohydrido silicone comptant en moyenne au moins 2 groupes d'hydrogène à liaison silicium par molécule, et un catalyseur d'hydrolysation, le composé organohydrido silicone et le catalyseur d'hydrolysation étant présents en quantité suffisante pour durcir le diorganopolysiloxane, et enfin, à durcir dynamiquement ledit diorganopolysiloxane.
