A thermoreversible thickener comprising a water-soluble copolymer containing as constituent monomer more than 50% by weight of a vinyl carboxylic ester of a cylic amine or a non- cyclic amine with more than 5 carbons with an alkylene oxide added thereto. The thickener, with a transition temperature which can be easily controlled according to the purpose of application, has a characteristic such that heating the aqueous solution thereof up to a temperature above the transition temperature causes rapid thickening of the solution. The composition of the thickener, prepared by admixing from 0.01 to 30% by weight thereof with from 70 to 99.99% by weight of aqueous solutions, emulsions or aqueous dispersions of inorganic or organic substances, can be used for purposes such as coating material compositions, rolling oil compositions, adhesive bonding agents, printing inks, coating materials for coated paper and adhesives for carpet backing.
Un épaississant thermoréversible comprend un copolymère hydrosoluble contenant en guise de constituant au moins 50 % en poids d'un ester vinylcarboxylique d'un produit d'addition à base d'un oxyde d'alkylène d'une amine cyclique ou d'une amine acyclique C5 ou supérieur. Il présente une température d'épaississement facile à moduler selon son utilisation et un effet épaississeur augmentant rapidement quand sa température dépasse celle de transition. Une composition comprenant 0,01 à 30 % en poids de cet épaississant et 70 à 99,99 % en poids d'une solution, émulsion ou dispersion aqueuse qui contient une substance organique ou inorganique, permet de produire une composition de revêtement, une composition d'huile de lubrification, un adhésif (sensible à la pression), une encre d'impression, un matériau de couchage pour papier, un adhésif pour dossier de tapis, etc.
