A method of forming a desiccating part including the steps of: (a) blending a composition comprising: at least 60 wt% desiccant, up to 10 wt% wetting agent, up to 5 wt% processing aid, and 10 - 30 wt% thermosetting resin; (b) forming the composition blended in step (a) into a part or shape; and (c) heating the part or shape of step (b) to crosslink the resin. Also included is a desiccating part comprising at least 70 wt% desiccant and a thermosetting binder resin.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de former un élément dessiccatif, consistant : (a) à mélanger une composition renfermant au moins 60 % en masse d'un agent dessiccatif, jusqu'à 10 % en masse d'un agent mouillant, jusqu'à 5 % en masse d'un adjuvant de fabrication et entre 10 et 30 % en masse d'une résine thermodurcissable ; (b) à former la composition mélangée à l'étape (a) pour obtenir un élément ou une forme donnée ; et (c) à chauffer l'élément ou la forme produit à l'étape (b) pour provoquer la réticulation de la résine. L'invention concerne également un élément dessiccatif renfermant au moins 70 % en masse d'un agent dessiccatif et une résine liante thermodurcissable.
