A thermosetting water-based coating composition which comprises (A) 100 parts by weight of a hydroxylated and carboxylated water-soluble resin having a weight-average molecular weight of 500-200,000, a hydroxy value of 1-200 mg- KOH/g, and an acid value of 10-100 mg-KOH/g and (B) 10-100 parts by weight of a brightening pigment and which is to be applied so as to give a cured film having a thickness of 3,000-8,000 nm, characterized in that the viscosity of the coating film applied which has a solid concentration of 40 wt.% is in the range of 4~102 to 1~104 mPa~s as measured at 20~C and a shear rate of 0.1 sec- 1. Also provided is a method of coating film formation which comprises using the coating composition.
L'invention concerne une composition de revêtement thermodurcissable à base d'eau comprenant (A) 100 parties en poids d'une résine hydroxylée et carboxylée soluble dans l'eau ayant un poids moléculaire moyen en poids de 500-200 000, un indice d'hydroxyle de 1-200 mg de KOH/g et un indice d'acidité de 10-100 mg de KOH/g et (B) 10-100 parties en poids d'un pigment d'avivage et devant être appliquée de façon à donner un film durci ayant une épaisseur de 3 000-8 000 nm, caractérisée en ce que la viscosité du film de revêtement appliqué qui a une concentration en matières solides de 40 % en poids est comprise dans l'intervalle allant de 4×102 à 1×104 mPa·s telle que mesurée à 20°C et à un taux de cisaillement de 0,1 s-1. L'invention concerne également un procédé de formation d'un film de revêtement utilisant ladite composition de revêtement.
