ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A thermostatic control having a housing in one wall of which is mounted a temperature responsive heat motor means which includes a movable member and in an opposed wall there is an abutment with a flat spring member mounted between the movable member and the abutment and having a length greater than the distance between the movable member and the abutment whereby the spring member is initially bowed. Movement of the movable member changes the bow of the string to actuate a control device. The coefficient of expansion of the spring and the housing are substantially the same whereby the control is temperature compensated.
