A thermostatic control valve assembly for use in continuously mixing a hot first fluid with a cold second fluid to continuously produce a mixed fluid at a constant temperature. The valve assembly includes an improved baffled mixing dome defining a mixing chamber that facilitates thorough mixing of the hot and cold fluids over a wide range of flow rates. Also included is an improved multiple response thermostat having a fast response rate adjacent to the entrance of the mixing dome for responding quickly to the temperature of fluid entering the mixing dome. The valve assembly further includes a piston/cylinder configuration which covers and uncovers internal passageways to control the mixed fluid temperature. The internal passageways are shaped to cause a non-linear change in the mixed fluid temperature in the mixing dome as the piston moves in the cylinder.
L'invention porte sur un mitigeur thermostatique servant à mélanger de façon continue un premier liquide chaud et un second liquide froid pour obtenir un liquide mélangé à une température constante. Le mitigeur comporte un dôme de mélange à chicanes définissant une chambre à mélanger qui facilite l'homogénéité du mélange des liquides chaud et froid pour une grande variété de débits. L'invention porte également sur un thermostat à réactions multiples amélioré, dont la vitesse de réaction est rapide, qui est placé près de l'entrée du dôme de mélange, ce qui lui permet de réagir rapidement à la température du liquide y entrant. De plus, le mitigeur présente une configuration piston/cylindre qui ferme et ouvre les passages internes afin de contrôler la température du liquide mélangé. Les passages internes sont formés de façon à causer un changement non linéaire dans la température du liquide mélangé dans le dôme de mélange au fur et à mesure que le piston se déplace dans le cylindre.
