ABSTRACT: A thiazolidine compound represented by the following general formula I or its acid addition salt Image (I) where X is -CH= or -N=, Y is Image (where R is a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or a. ethyl group) or-CH2CH2-, Ar is a phenyl group which may be substituted by halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, phenyl or trifluoromethyl, a thienyl group or a naphthyl group R1 is a hydrogen atom, a straight chain or branched chain alkyl group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms or a phenyl group which may be substituted, R2 is a hydrogen atom, a straight chain or branched chain alkyl group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, a phenyl group which may be substituted, a lower alkoxycarbonyl group, a lower alkylcarbamoyl group or a lower alkenylcarbamoyl group, and R3 is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower acyl group, a lower alkylcarbamoyl group, a lower alkylthiocarbamoyl group or a phenyl- carbamoyl group. The compound is useful as fungicide.
