A thiazolidine derivative represented by the general formula (I) [wherein X represents a substituent represented by the formula (I-a) or (I-b) (wherein m is 1 or 2; n is an integer of 1 to 5; X' represents hydrogen, etc.; Y' represents arylamino, heterocycle, etc.; A represents carbon or nitrogen; and Q represents aryl, etc.); Y represents methylene, sulfur, etc.; and Z represents hydrogen or cyano] and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the derivative. They have potent DPP-IV inhibitory activity and can hence be provided as, e.g. a preventive/remedy for diabetes or preventive/remedy for obesity.

La présente invention concerne un dérivé thiazolidine représenté par la formule générale (I) et l'un de ses sels pharmaceutiquement admis. Dans cette formule, X est un substituant représenté par la formule (I-a) ou (I-b). Y est notamment méthylène ou soufre. Z est hydrogène ou cyano. Dans les formules du substituant, m vaut 1 ou 2. n est un entier de 1 à 5. X' est hydrogène. Y' est notamment arylamino ou hétérocycle. A est carbone ou azote. Enfin, Q est essentiellement aryle. Leur puissante activité inhibitrice des DPP-IV permet de les utiliser en prophylaxie ou en thérapie du diabète ou de l'obésité.
